Sky Mavis, the company behind popular game Axie Infinity, has pledged to refund players after hackers stole $625 million from Ronin’s blockchain.
“We are committed to ensuring that All removed funds will be recovered or refunded. And we are continuing our conversations with our stakeholders to determine the best course of action.” Spokesperson for Sky Mavis said in a statement
“The stolen money includes the deposits of players and speculators. Plus revenue from Axie Infinity Treasury,” said Aleksander Leonard Larsen, Sky Mavis operations officer.
The attacker finds a backdoor in the Ronin node, then uses the hacked private keys to withdraw the funds. Those losses included 173,600 ether and $25.5 million in USDC.
