This Monday, a skier died in the afternoon in an avalanche in the Hautes-Alpes. According to the radio Alps 1, the victim, originally from Lyon, was in the area of the Chardonnet ridge in Monêtier-les-Bains at the time of the tragedy. Contacted by 20 Minutes Marseillesthe gendarmerie specifies that the victim was 55 years old and was ski touring in the company of five other skiers and a guide.
Also according to this source, two other skiers were more slightly injured. A helicopter was dispatched to the scene to allow the intervention of the Briançon high mountain gendarmerie platoon.
