Ski jumper Markus Eisenbichler has won an individual competition for the first time in more than three years and has therefore been recommended for the World Cup team. The 32-year-old won the second-class Continental Cup in the USA and also took third place there.

Eisenbichler once again sent a positive signal of respect in Iron Mountain after a long period of sporting crisis. The six-time world champion had not been able to build on previous performances this season. He had not yet been named to the World Cup team by national coach Stefan Horngacher this winter.
