Singer Tiffany became world famous in 1987 with her hit “I Think We’re Alone Now”. But an appearance a few days ago left some fans puzzled. The 50-year-old had lyrics on her biggest hit and struggled with the notes. The fans are amazed.

She was only just 16 when she made her international breakthrough in the summer of 1987 with her debut single “I Think We’re Alone Now”. Tiffany, whose real name is Tiffany Darwish, landed at number 1 on the charts in both the US and the UK with its cover number. Her debut album went 4-times platinum. After her third album flopped in 1990, things became quiet about the American. Although she returned years later with new releases, she was never able to really build on her old successes.

She last participated in the Australian version of “I’m a Star, Get Me Out of Here” in 2018, but was the first to be elected. And the audience didn’t seem to be enthusiastic about one of her current performances either. A video on the news portal “TMZ” shows the 50-year-old performing on Sunday in Melbourne, Florida.

She stands barefoot on the stage next to her guitarist and looks battered. Her voice sounds hoarse, she struggles with the notes and even has lyrics on her biggest hit “I Think We’re Alone Now”. The audience helps and sings along. But towards the end of the song the singer seems to be bothered by something. She interrupts the song and yells, “Fuck you. It’s my hit. I’ll sing it right.”

Nasty Twitter comments after Tiffany’s appearance

There were nasty comments on social networks for the singer: “Well, now she’s alone”, “Sometimes it’s better to give up” or “I can’t sing even when I’m drunk”, were just some of the Twitter comments to the appearance. Her appearance is also discussed: “She doesn’t look good. I’ve been saying that for a while. Addicted to something,” it says. Or also: “She has gained a lot”.

What exactly was the reason for their dropouts is unclear. So far, Tiffany has not commented on it herself. A spokesperson for the singer stated, according to TMZ, that she had lost her voice and was simply frustrated with her performance. Or maybe the singer was just finished. The concert on Sunday was the last of their Shadow tour of California, which started in Texas on June 5th.
