During his appearance at the famous festival, the Scot has problems with his voice and gets support from his audience. Lana Del Rey can’t be heard either – but for a different reason.

The Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi struggled with vocal problems at the Glastonbury Festival – the audience jumped in for him. Thousands sang along to the song “Someone You Love” on Saturday night while the 26-year-old remained largely silent and gazed devoutly at the crowd. He will take more time for himself, Capaldi said afterwards, after he canceled several performances before the famous festival to “rest and recover”.

Capaldi had problems after a few songs. “I’ll be honest with you, I’m losing my voice up here, but we’re going to keep going and see this through to the end,” he said. “I just want you all to sing along as loud as you can, if that’s okay?” The fans celebrated the singer with chants.

Day five of the Glastonbury Festival

Former Nirvana member Dave Grohl also featured prominently on day five of the famed West England festival. First he sat down on drums for a few songs with the band The Pretenders before returning to the stage late in the evening with the US rock band Guns’n’Roses for the hit “Paradise City”. Grohl had already made a surprise appearance with the Foo Fighters on Friday – the band was announced under the name The Churnups.

Lana Del Rey’s performance was delayed for so long that the organizers turned off the microphone because of the US singer’s late hour. The 38-year-old then conducted the audience from the stage to the hit “Video Games”. According to reports, the singer was annoyed that she – contrary to an earlier announcement – was not announced as a headliner on the main stage.

At the end of the multi-day festival, pop legend Elton John was to play on Sunday evening – it should be the 76-year-old’s last appearance in Great Britain in his career. Several “special guests” have also been announced. John’s husband David Furnish announced four different artists on Sky News. There are rumors about Harry Styles, Billy Joel, Ed Sheeran, Dua Lipa and Britney Spears. Sir Elton said Glastonbury would be a “suitable” place to say goodbye to his British fans. He will start with a song that he has not played for ten years.
