Singer Nina Chuba used to think she had no disadvantages as a woman in the music business. Today she sees it differently.
As a woman in the music industry, the Hamburg singer Nina Chuba experiences that her success is often denied. “I used to think that I didn’t have any disadvantages as a woman. But that’s not true,” said the 24-year-old, who conquered the German single charts in 2022 as a newcomer with her song “Wildberry Lillet”, in an interview with “Zeit”. and “Time Online”. “I get questioned more.”
As an example she gave: “Another label boss praises my label boss and says: But you formed Nina great. I did it myself, I wasn’t formed! I had support, but in the end it was just a lot of hard work and very a lot of discipline. And of course talent.”
Chuba said she tries not to put too much emphasis on her career. If it doesn’t work anymore, that’s okay too. “Maybe I’ll do something else in ten years. I also have other interests. Maybe I’ll become a yoga teacher. Or I’ll go to a label. Or urban gardening, I love that too. I can imagine a lot.”
