James Blunt’s childhood in NRW: had a wonderful time there

The British singer James Blunt lived in North Rhine-Westphalia for several years as a child. He fondly remembers the time there – and he still feels connected to Germany today.
The British cuddle singer James Blunt (47) has fond memories of his childhood on the edge of the Sauerland in North Rhine-Westphalia. «I had a wonderful time there. Lots of great experiences, ”said Blunt (“ You’re Beautiful ”) in an interview with“ Welt ”.
As a child, Blunt lived on the Möhnesee for a few years because his father was stationed there for the British Army. This time has shaped him to this day: “When I arrive in Germany and drink fantastic German beer and go into the mountains and the forest, I’m happy. Because we don’t have that in the UK, ”said Blunt. “The German spirit is to tackle and get things done, and I celebrate that.”
The army rented the family a house right on the Möhnesee, so he skated on the ice and played hockey in winter. «And swimming, sailing and windsurfing in summer. It’s a really beautiful part of the world, ”said the singer. He is very proud of his childhood in Germany.
