Sila Sahin: This is how she organizes job and family

Today is the first episode with Sila Sahin in “Everything that counts”. The daily series is a “tough, hard job” for her.

Sila Sahin-Radlinger (37) celebrates its premiere in the series “Everything that counts”. She has been in front of the camera in Cologne since June, and the first episode with her role Miray Ötztürk will air today, August 24 (Monday to Friday, 7:05 p.m., RTL). Balancing work on the daily series and her day-to-day life with two young children hasn’t been easy for the actress. And then there is also a move for the family.

Her friend said, “Now it’s your turn again”

In an interview with “RTL”, Sila Sahin describes that she had “fears and doubts” before her new series job. “I knew what it was like to shoot for a Daily and I knew I would have to commute.” After all, her family has been living in her husband’s Austrian homeland since 2020. She had previously followed the soccer professional to Norway, England and Hanover.

In addition to worrying about how to balance work and family, she was worried about the casting. “I hardly had any preparation time. Everything happened very quickly. Would I be able to do it all? I just kept thinking, how am I supposed to record this casting between kid and cone?” Her salvation was fellow actress Mimi Fiedler (47): “She said: After dropping the kids off at daycare, you come to Munich immediately today and I’ll take you in. She had to persuade me, to be honest, because I was insecure and suddenly didn’t want to do all that anymore.” After Fiedler then filmed her casting scenes with her cell phone, she first wanted to delete the video. “My girlfriend convinced me with her good words and advised me not to always put my talent, my passion and my dreams aside. ‘It’s time and now it’s your turn again,’ said Mimi.”

And Sahin was able to convince those responsible. For almost three months she has been commuting between Ried in Austria and Cologne for “Everything that counts” – almost 700 kilometers. At the same time, a mother’s emotions also fluctuated. She goes through an emotional roller coaster every week. She cried many bitter tears when she said goodbye, but when she returned she experienced love and great joy. With goalkeeper Samuel Radlinger (30) she has sons Elijah (5) and Noah (4). The boys go to kindergarten and are looked after by Radlinger and Sahin’s mother in Ried. “They are doing very well, but we miss each other a lot. Sometimes, like now during the holidays, they are all there in Cologne. So we see each other every day, which makes me very happy.”

However, she can only see on Friday evening, when she receives the shooting schedule for the coming week, “where there may still be a small gap for private matters”. Free days are precious: “I plan and organize everything alongside the shooting during the week. I then spend the weekends with my sons in the country with cows or on playgrounds, I organize celebrations with all the trimmings such as bouncy castles or excursions and on Most important: with a lot of love, cuddling and Mama Sila,” she explains with a laugh. And further: “Of course I miss them and I’m very worried. Every mom knows that. But I know what I’m doing all this for: Among other things, to ensure them a good future and to provide for their livelihood.”

A move is pending

Because her husband has been without a club since July 1st. After three seasons he left SV Ried after its league relegation. It is not yet known where he will move to. As the Austrian sports portal “Laola 1” reported in June, Wiener Austria and SCR Altach are in discussion. What is certain is that there is a local change for the family. “We’re moving soon, so I’d like to sell a few things, because unfortunately we can’t take everything with us,” Sila Sahin announced on her Instagram account in early August and advertised a private flea market.

She has not yet revealed the new destination. “More news coming soon…” she wrote on a family photo from a vacation in Dubai two years ago, fueling rumors of emigration to the emirate, which is popular with celebrities. So will Sahin even commute between Dubai and Cologne in the future? Sahin’s friend and former “GZSZ” colleague Isabell Horn (39) is showing how this can work: She emigrated to Sweden with her family and is now commuting from there to the shooting of the ZDF series “Betty’s Diagnosis” in Cologne.

“Tough Bone Job”

Sahin also emphasizes to “RTL” that working for a daily series is no picnic: “Shooting for a daily is a tough, back-breaking job. You’re usually on duty from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.: Scenes, texts, Mask, costume, times – everything has to fit and sit.” There is neither space nor time for sagging. In addition, you already learn the text for the next day “and fall into bed at 11 p.m. dead tired”.

She had to get back into this rhythm first. But at the same time she really missed this routine, a team and the exchange with fans. “It is also a great privilege as an actress to be on the air for so long in a row and cast daily. Who has so many days of shooting and can gain as much experience as with a daily series?” Very few manage to “cope with such a tough workload”. That requires a lot of discipline and organization.

This is her new role

But for her new role as Miray Öztürk, Sila Sahin is worth it all. She plays the cousin of ice skating star Leyla (Suri Abbassi) and head coach Deniz (Igor Dolgachev), who wants to start as an influencer. Sahin describes her as “a good and pure soul, helpful, curious and ambitious”.

There are definitely parallels to herself, since she also dreamed of becoming famous. But there is a serious difference, says the 37-year-old, who has 340,000 followers on Instagram. “I’m not a social media pro at all, even if it sometimes seems like it. I do everything intuitively – by heart, mood and feeling. Miray, on the other hand, already knows her way around in the field. She follows everything and follows everyone, um to be able to play up front one day.” Then she adds with a laugh: “Maybe I should take her lessons.” In any case, viewers can look forward to turbulent stories, lots of laughs and colorful outfits, she promises.
