The Holocaust irrevocably made the history of the Jews part of German history. The radical effort to eliminate the Jews from Germany, its culture and history led to an entanglement that will last forever in historical contexts: whenever German history is discussed, its amalgamation with the history of the Jews is also discussed have to come. The Holocaust created a point of view that can no longer be avoided.
