This Thursday evening, during the PFL Paris at the Accor Arena, Baysangur “Baki” Chamsoudinov was declared the winner after a referee’s stop… because of a splinter in his opponent’s foot.

“We were fighting, I felt a piece of glass or a piece of wood in my toe. I told the referee to remove it and he didn’t want to. Baki told me ‘ take it off’ and the referee stopped the fight. I don’t understand why the referee stopped the fight,” Doumbè explained to DAZN.
“Somewhere there is a refusal to fight”
The outcome of the fight shocked everyone and caused an intense flinch from a stunned Accor Arena. Contacted by RMC Sport this Thursday evening, Loïc Pora, French MMA referee, reacted to this controversial decision. “For the moment, I don’t have much to say. There is a refusal to fight somewhere. It’s in the sporting code. There’s not much to say”, explains- he.
“Doumbè’s explanations, who says he hasn’t stopped fighting? When you don’t stop fighting, you continue to fight. That’s all. You have to know how to read the regulations”, concluded Loïc Pora .
At the end of the fight, Doumbè and Baki both announced their intention to schedule a new duel. “Of course I want to do it again. I swear to you that I don’t understand what’s happening. I’m very disappointed that it’s happening like this,” assured Doumbè. “The PFL, make sure that the fight is fought again, Baki supported. Of course I am ready to do it again, if possible in a bigger way!” MMA fans are waiting for this.
