Unknown gunned down a man in Lüdenscheid. The 24-year-old died from his injuries. The police are on site with a large contingent.

Updated 7:57 p.m: Police and prosecutors have just issued a joint press release. A 24-year-old from Lüdenscheid was “fatally injured by a gunshot”. At 4:53 p.m., witnesses reported an injured person in the pedestrian underpass on Sauerfelder Strasse. As part of the immediately initiated manhunt, two suspects, an 18-year-old and a 15-year-old from Lüdenscheid, were arrested. Both were found near the scene of the crime. The 24-year-old, who was initially critically injured, succumbed to the severity of his injury in the hospital in the evening.

“A homicide commission from the Hagen police headquarters has taken over the investigation. At the moment, further evidence is being sought at the scene of the crime and in the city center. The murder weapon has not yet been found. The background to the crime is currently unclear. No further information can be given at the moment.”

The victim is a 24-year-old from Lüdenscheid. He was critically injured. According to police spokesman Marcel Dilling, the scene of the crime is the tunnel under the Sauerfeld. How often the young man was shot and how many bullets hit him is still the subject of the investigation. The seriously injured 24-year-old still dragged himself up the stairs to the bus station, where he collapsed at the upper entrance to Brighouse Park. After the first aid on site, the 24-year-old was taken to the Lüdenscheid Clinic. According to the police, the first emergency call came in at 4:53 p.m.

Our on-site reporter reports that there are several police vehicles at the junction with Jokuschstraße in the area of ​​the savings bank. The fire brigade was also alerted. She put a gazebo at the upper entrance to Brighouse Park – this is where the young man was found. The critically injured victim was taken to the Lüdenscheid Clinic by an ambulance.

The stops were cordoned off with warning tape, MVG buses are not currently driving to the Sauerfeld. Numerous passers-by watched the action on site. The suspects were observed and the search is currently in full swing.

Police also recorded several stabbings over the weekend. In Beckum, a man was stabbed for no apparent reason, in Muenster a 17-year-old was brought before the magistrate – he is said to have seriously injured a 21-year-old with a knife. Just a year ago, a deadly shot at the Steinert fair caused horror in the city.
