The third part of the film series “Venom” has been postponed. The cinema release announcement comes on the day of the Hollywood strike settlement.

Sony Pictures Entertainment is postponing the planned theatrical release of “Venom 3” by almost four months. This is reported by “Variety”, among others. Instead of July 12, 2024, the science fiction film is scheduled to start in American cinemas on November 8, 2024. It is the third part about the Marvel comic character Venom – embodied by British actor Tom Hardy (46).

Hardy plays a reporter who symbiotically bonds with an alien and thereby develops superpowers. The first part of the action film series was released in 2018, followed in 2021 by part two entitled “Venom: Let There Be Carnage”. The second part had to be postponed several times due to the corona pandemic.

Postponed shortly after the Hollywood strike ended

Filming for the third part began in June this year and had to be interrupted due to the Hollywood strike. The film production company announced that it would postpone the release of “Venom 3” until November, just hours after the end of the 118-day strike. This leaves the producers more time for filming and post-production.

The striking actors were able to reach an agreement with the studios as the actors’ union SAG-AFTRA announced on Wednesday. Among other things, they had demanded better pay and had now reached an “agreement in principle”.
