The Schützen-Festzelt is just as popular with Munich youth as it is with tradition-conscious Bavarians. Families also like to come, especially for the traditional midday Oktoberfest. But you have to be there early, especially on weekends, otherwise you won’t get a place at the foot of the Bavaria.
The guests in the Schützenzelt come mainly from Munich and the surrounding area. The special feature: the traditional Oktoberfest shooting is held at 110 shooting ranges. Under the red, green and yellow ceiling there is space for 5100 guests, and another 1235 in the beer garden.
Like every marquee at the Wiesn, the Schützenzelt has its own tapping ritual. The beer that is drunk there comes from Löwenbräu.
