She is sitting on a swing, legs crossed, black patent boots, black bodysuit. “They declare a miniskirt to be a source of maximum shame. But a woman with brains is dismissed as an emancipation.” The hall raps along. Each. Separate. Word. Shirin David floats down the last few centimeters to the stage and touches down. She doesn’t run – she walks. Shoulders back, chest forward, chin up. Her eyes are only half open, as if she wanted to tell us: Look at me calmly, but you don’t see the whole picture.
