Shani Louk’s cousin: “They send me fake messages”

In Israel, the family of the abducted German Shani Louk fears for their life. Her cousin talks about harassment on social media and her life since the terrorist attack.

These days, 30-year-old Tom Weintraub-Louk is driving from press conference to press conference. Her cousin Shani Louk has been missing for more than a week and the young woman wants to make the world aware of the 22-year-old’s fate. Shani Louk was attacked by Hamas terrorists at the Supernova festival on October 7 and later appeared in a video from the Gaza Strip. She is one of about 150 people kidnapped from Israel that day. And whose families are now fighting to bring them back home.

The star meets Tom Weintraub-Louk, photographer and filmmaker, in her apartment in Tel Aviv. There are cameras in her living room that she used to photograph her cousin just a few weeks ago. Tom Weintraub-Louk often has a smile on her face when she talks about her cousin. But that dies out as soon as October 7th comes around.
