After it was announced on Friday that Liz Hurley’s ex-boyfriend, Shane Warne, was found dead at the age of 52, the actress now commemorates him with touching words on Instagram.

Elizabeth Hurley and cricketer Shane Warne were a couple from 2010 to 2013. News broke yesterday that the Australian was found dead on the Thai island of Koh Samui. This was announced by his management. His famous ex-girlfriend is now publicly addressing the deceased with heartbreaking words.

For an album with many beautiful pictures of the two from the old days, the actress writes: “I have the feeling that the sun has disappeared behind a dark cloud forever, rest in peace, my beloved lion heart.”

Shane Warne and Liz Hurley had a special relationship

In a previous interview, the cricketer once said that the three years with English actress Liz Hurley were the “most beautiful and happiest time of his life”. When he first started dating Hurley, he got the aspiration to be “a better person,” he reportedly said to a few JournaLizten, according to the English Daily Mail.

The cause of death is said to have been a severe heart attack. The father-of-three publicly commented on the special connection between him and Liz Hurley in 2018: “Nobody knows what the future will bring. But there is a difference between being in love with someone and loving someone. I will be Elizabeth always love, but I don’t think we’ll get back together.” The Instagram posting of the “Austin Powers” actress seems to confirm the special and loving relationship between the two almost ten years after the breakup.

At the time, Shane Warne made the statement on the reasons for the breakup of the celebrity couple: “It wasn’t anything that you or I did wrong, it just fizzled out. We’re still good friends, we keep in touch, we are there for each other and our kids get along great.”
