“The Storm” is an enigmatic, profound, and always a bit annoying piece, from which you think you can understand the more the older you get. Without a certain experience of life and pain, you don’t really know what there is in terms of anthropology, old age and bitter melancholy, in addition to all the theater and dream analogies. But it is also an old work, Shakespeare’s last play, first performed in 1611, five years before his death. In it, Shakespeare once again uses the entire keyboard of theatrical art and technique and, with Prospero, has a character appear in whom he seems to be reflected, a magician who ignites a play with a storm, one last great production. Because he still has some basic clarifications before he resigns.
