For three weeks, a strike movement has been disrupting the emergency room of the Toulouse University Hospital. After several meetings, the management and the CGT and Sud unions have not found common ground. To respond to the increase in activity since the start of 2022, management proposed the creation of 16 additional full-time equivalents (FTEs) for Purpan’s adult emergencies. The unions claim on their side 41 for Purpan, 22 in Rangueil and 27 in psychiatric emergencies.
Vital emergencies only
As the strike movement continues, the Toulouse University Hospital is setting up a reception system restricted to emergencies this Sunday. During this Sunday, he recommends that all patients call 15 before going there. And from 6 p.m. this evening, “the adult emergencies at Purpan hospital and the emergencies at Rangueil hospital will only receive vital emergencies sent by the SAMU (Hello 15), psychiatric emergencies will maintain the only consultations”, indicates management in a statement.
For all other cases, it is advisable to contact private health establishments, your attending physician or 39 66 after 8 p.m., to be taken care of by a general practitioner on call.
