A close family member beat, abused and humiliated Nicolas Haaf. Today he is committed to combating child sexual abuse. A conversation about female perpetrators and how the 46-year-old fought his way back into life.
Mr. Haaf, according to crime statistics, one in ten child sexual abuse cases in Germany in 2022 were committed by a woman. Nevertheless, when it comes to the topic, people often only think of male perpetrators – why do you think that is?
Most people don’t trust women to do such cruel things to children. Women can act just as recklessly as men in order to satisfy their urges. I also believe that the number of unreported cases of female perpetrators is much higher – they are better at concealing their crimes.
