Is Samantha Jones Coming Back To ‘Sex And The City’? For a long time there was only one answer to the question: No. According to insiders, that has now changed.
The relaunch of the hit series “Sex and the City” has been more than successful with the first season of “And Just Like That”. In the second season of the HBO series, fans are now apparently in for a surprise: Samantha Jones is coming back. At least that’s what the industry magazine wants “variety” have now found out.
Actress Kim Cattrall will appear in the season two finale, but only in one scene, where she’s supposed to be Samantha on the phone with Carrie Bradshaw. Both were not in the same room during the shooting of this scene, as the magazine writes, and there will be no further sequel to the character.

Still, Cattrall’s mini comeback is surprising. The actress previously said in 2016 that she was done with her role as Samantha Jones. In an interview at the time, she said the script for the sequel didn’t do the role justice. This led to a falling out with Sarah Jessica Parker and her other “Sex and the City” co-stars.
Nobody expected a comeback since then. In August, Samantha Jones will probably appear for the last time in the “Sex and the City” universe. The new season starts on June 22, 2023.
