In many parts of Germany, thunderstorms accompanied by sometimes heavy rainfall are to be expected. The map below shows where severe weather is brewing.

Heavy thunderstorms already caused many fire brigade operations on Thursday night. Air traffic was also affected. On Thursday, heavy rain is still to be expected in the north-east, writes the German Weather Service (DWD) in its warning report. In the south, east and center of Germany, the DWD also recorded increasing thunderstorm activity, sometimes accompanied by heavy rain in some areas, and possibly hail and gusts of wind.
The thunderstorms subside on Friday night. A few thunderstorms with heavy rain are still possible, especially over the north and center. The heat will follow later on from the storm: According to the DWD, heavy heat stress is already to be expected in the south on Thursday. The maps below show the forecast and the current weather conditions.
