The German Weather Service (DWD) warns of severe weather with hurricane gusts, hail and heavy rain in parts of Bavaria. First of all, the edge of the Alps is affected, where gusts of wind and severe thunderstorms are expected from the south-west from the late afternoon.
According to the DWD, the risk of thunderstorms is high for all of Bavaria on Thursday evening and at night. Hailstones up to five centimeters in size can fall selectively, and hurricane gusts of up to 140 kilometers per hour cannot be ruled out.
In the second half of the night, the meteorologists expect the weather situation to relax. Thunderstorms are then only likely near the Alps.
