The Berlin police moved out to an operation in Berlin-Charlottenburg early Wednesday evening. Several shots were fired around 5:15 p.m. on Dahlmannstrasse, the police said on Twitter. The crime scene is between Kurfürstendamm and the Charlottenburg S-Bahn station.
According to reports, two people were injured and taken to a hospital. One or more suspects are said to have fled. Heavily armed police special forces are also on site.
According to initial findings, there is said to have been an argument between several people in which at least one firearm was used, the police later announced on Twitter. The search for the suspects is ongoing.
The police cordoned off the area around Dahlmannstrasse. Road users are asked to avoid the area and drive around it.
