“Several hundred pallets” of Perrier water destroyed by Nestlé “as a precaution”

Nestlé has destroyed part of its production of Perrier bottled water after observing a deterioration in the quality of the water in one of its wells in Gard, suspended until further notice, the Nestlé Waters subsidiary announced on Wednesday. .

“Several batches of bottles”, or the equivalent of “several hundred pallets” usually delivered to stores, were destroyed “as a precaution”, indicated Nestlé Waters, which refers to a “punctual microbiological deviation” without specifying the nature of the contamination. The group still assured that “all bottles on the market can be consumed safely”.

Since January, the agri-food giant has been put under pressure by revelations about the management of the quality of its bottled water reserves. In April, Nestlé then said it “intensified surveillance” of its French drilling “under the control of the authorities”.
