Several families evacuated overnight as their building threatens to collapse

On the night of Thursday to this Friday, around 3:30 a.m., the firefighters were called by the inhabitants of a building in Antibes, very worried to see a floor collapse on the first floor, indicated the Departmental Service of fire and rescue services (Sdis) in the Alpes-Maritimes. The risk is proven and families had to be relocated.

The emergency services thus noted “abnormal cracks” and evacuated “as a precaution” five apartments. After recognition by the city engineer, it was decided that these families could not return to their homes before consolidation work. Sdis 06 specifies that these ten people will be relocated by their own means.
