A month of June in the colors of the rainbow! Since the first Pride March in June 1970, created in response to the Stonewall riots of 1969, the LGBTQIA+ community has marched throughout the month of June, to defend their rights, claim the freedom of their peers and celebrate the memory of those discriminated against in the past and today.

“Single Drunk Female”, sober and queer
A luminous drama on a heavy theme. Single Drunk Female, available on Disney+, features Samantha Fink (Sofia Black-D’Elia), a 28-year-old alcoholic in complete denial. In rehab to avoid prison, she takes over the management of the family home run with an iron fist by her mother, Carol (Ally Sheedy). Back in suburban Boston, Samantha begins a long and arduous journey to sobriety, with the help of a host of supporters: Olivia, her AA sponsor Olivia (Rebecca Henderson), and brilliant lesbian journalist, Mindy, Sam’s new transgender boss, etc. What’s really refreshing about Single Drunk Femaleis that we quickly understand that Sam is bi, but that it is not a subject.
The supernatural love story “First Kill”
A kind of Romeo and Juliet with sauce Twilight ! First Kill, available on Netflix, features Juliet (Sarah Catherine Hook), a young vampire from a long and powerful line of blood drinkers. His mother Margot (Elizabeth Mitchell seen in Lost) can’t wait for her to kill for the first time. In high school, Juliette sets her sights on a new student, Calliope (Imani Lewis)… The beginning of a love story for the young vampire, who is unaware that Calliope comes from a guild of monster hunters, including vampires. The harrowing dilemma of “Young Royals”
The gay jewel in the crown! Young Royals, available on Netflix, features the Swedish royal prince Wilhelm (Edvin Ryding), sent to the prestigious Hillerska Institute, following an altercation filmed during an evening in a nightclub. At boarding school, he bonds with Simon Eriksson (Omar Rudberg), a scholarship student and a rising star in the school choir. Gradually, Prince Wilhelm realizes that he has feelings for his comrade. As he lives his first love and discovers his sexuality, the prince is propelled heir to the crown after the tragic death of his brother. Wilhelm then wonders about the kind of life he really wants to lead, between freedom and duty. A touching initiatory story, in the manner of Love, Victor, whose final season 3 arrives this Wednesday on Disney +.
The caustic humor of “Work in Progress”
In Work in Progress, available on MyCanal, comedian Abby McEnany takes the stage in the semi-autobiographical role of Abby, a lesbian and depressed forties, with self-deprecating humor who describes herself as a “fat queer dyke”) . A hilarious, touching and intelligent drama! The Canadian Series Sort of, available in full on 6play, follows the irresistible existential quest of Sabi (Bilal Baig), a young person living in Toronto, trying to find the balance between his non-binary identity, his position as a child of Pakistani immigrants, his job behind the counter of an LGBTQ+ bar and her role as nanny to a family of hipsters. A coming-of-age story in which Sabi attempts to “define who they really are and thrive,” sums up Bilal Baig, who co-created and stars in the lead role of this marvel of humanity in 8×30 minutes.
“Everything I love” or the change of edge of a hetero
A feel-good comedy from Argentina that plays down gay or bi coming out! Everything I love (Todo lo que me Gusta), available on Amazon Prime Video, follows the adventures of Daniel, a hetero, who, on the eve of his thirties, falls in love with Javier, his new colleague at the office. Distraught, he follows the advice of his friend and mentor Mario and decides to open up to this new romantic experience with a boy. A delicious story of confusion of feelings.
