Seven people in “relative emergency” after the fire in a building in the 4th arrondissement

The worst was avoided on Saturday evening in Marseille. Seven people in “relative emergency” were transported to hospital and around twenty others evacuated around midnight on Saturday, after a fire which broke out in a building near the center, causing its partial collapse, according to firefighters and the town hall.

“We were called around 11:45 p.m. for a fire” on the second and top floor of a building located in the 4th arrondissement, the firefighters said.

Around twenty people evacuated

“80 firefighters were mobilized on site”, where the “fire was brought under control”, specified the same source, adding that around twenty people who were in the building affected by the fire and the surrounding buildings were were evacuated and brought to safety.

“Intervention underway in the 4th arrondissement – ​​Boulevard Pardigon/Avenue Chutes Lavie. Avoid the area,” posted on X the mayor of Marseille Benoît Payan, who went to the scene of the disaster.
