Seven individuals fined

“I vote against the Jewess”, “I found her sublime until she spoke of Israel, ptdr”… Seven people were sentenced this Wednesday by the Paris court to fines for having made comments online with anti-Semitic characters, on December 19, the evening of the Miss France election.

These comments were aimed at April Benayoum, representative of Provence, after the young woman spoke on the air about her Israeli origins from her father. A total of 14 accounts had been investigated and eight suspects, aged 20 to 58, were quickly identified and then taken into custody last May before appearing in September.

Two-month suspended prison sentences had been requested against eight Internet users tried for insults against Miss Provence. Seven of them were therefore fined in the judgment rendered on Wednesday.
