Seven departments are placed on orange “rain-flood” or “flood” alert, Météo-France announced in its weather report published at 6 a.m., Monday December 11. Gironde, which is on flood alert, has joined Corrèze, Dordogne, Deux-Sèvres, Isère, Savoie and Haute-Savoie.

In detail, in Haute-Savoie, flood vigilance concerns the Giffre downstream and Arve downstream sections. Savoie is on alert for the Isère Haute-Combe section of Savoie, between Chamousset and Albertville. In Gironde, the level of Isle aval is under monitoring. The Dordogne department is on orange alert for the sections of Isle upstream and Vézère downstream. Corrèze is on alert for the section of the Vézère upstream. Finally, for Deux-Sèvres, the risk of flooding concerns the section of the Sèvre Niortaise upstream, according to vigicrues.

In addition, three departments are on orange alert for rain-flooding: Haute-Savoie, Isère and Savoie. Météo France specifies that the “precipitation is well established in the Alps”. “They generally occur as snow above 2,200 to 2,400 meters”adds the organization.
