Discussions with vaccine skeptics or those who are still reluctant to have a vaccine against the coronavirus injected often boil down to one topic: There are also drugs! It is often said that drugs for the treatment of Covid infection are little researched and that all funding goes into vaccine development. That is simply not correct. Hundreds of drugs are being researched and developed around the world, some of them massively funded. So far, unfortunately, there have been no decisive successes to report, a “game changer” in the pandemic is not in sight. The highly traded drug molnupiravir has also disappointed expectations for the time being, as current data show.
