A joint excursion by several motor scooter drivers from the Fürstenfeldbruck area ended fatally for one member of the group, others were injured, some seriously: According to police reports, fourteen of the scooter friends were on Friday morning on a total of ten Vespas on the B 17 near Schongau heading south, some of them were driving in front of a dark van, some behind. Between Altenstadt and Schongau, a black Audi, driven by a 20-year-old from Ostallgäu, came towards them on a clear stretch of road. The rescue workers were initially offered a debris field on the B 17. Three emergency doctors and the crews of two rescue helicopters and ten rescue and ambulances treated the eight injured, the volunteer fire brigade was on duty with 70 helpers, the police with 24 officers and one helicopter. Any help came too late for a 68-year-old Vespa driver. The rescuers brought another with serious injuries, others with slightly less serious injuries to nearby clinics. The two drivers and the passenger from the minibus are among the injured. A crisis intervention team attended to the uninjured members of the Vespa group.
