A serious accident occurred in the Richard Strauss Tunnel on Sunday morning. Two women, 35 and 60 years old, were seriously injured and had to be freed from their car by the fire department. A firefighter who was on his way to work around 6:20 a.m. spotted the Citroen at the tunnel exit in the direction of Schwabing and immediately alerted his colleagues.

The emergency services freed the two women from the car using technical equipment, according to the fire department. They were treated by the emergency doctor at the scene of the accident and then taken to the hospital. It is not yet clear how the accident occurred, but the police have started investigating the cause of the accident. The Richard Strauss Tunnel was closed and there were traffic delays for around two hours.
