What’s the matter: Frankfurt, in the year of the economic miracle of 1963. The innkeeper’s daughter Eva Bruhns (Katharina Stark) works as a translator from Polish and would like to get married soon. She is recruited for a job for which she is completely unprepared – as an interpreter for survivors at the first Auschwitz trial. Eva’s own upright parents are also hiding something.

Secret star: The whole ensemble: Henry Hübchen, Iris Berben, Ricarda Seifried, Heiner Lauterbach – but if you had to choose one, it would be the fantastic Anke Engelke as Bruhn’s hardened mother, who doesn’t say anything for a long time. But then the whole truth.

Not suitable for: You should be prepared for the fact that not everything that takes place in the sixties and starts with a new dress is necessarily a comedy. Claudia Tieschky
