Cheers to Milan! The traditional club secured the Scudetto on the last matchday in Serie A for the first time since 2011.

AC Milan are Italian champions for the first time since the 2010/11 season. On the final day of Serie A, a 3-0 win at US Sassuolo sealed the club’s 19th title.

Milan went into the final matchday with a two-point lead over city rivals Inter, who also met Sampdoria Genoa at the same time and also won 3-0, and ultimately secured the Scudetto confidently.

The visitors were comfortably ahead in Sassuolo after the first half thanks to a brace from Olivier Giroud and a goal from Franck Kessie. The clear lead also lasted during the second round.

This ends a long dry spell for the Rossoneri. The last championship in 2011 was also the last major title in the club’s glorious history.
