“Hello, my name is Fin Affleck.” Of all things, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner’s middle child is using the funeral service for their deceased grandfather to come out publicly. Visually there has already been a transformation.

In early April, Jennifer Garner announced on Instagram that her beloved father John had died at the age of 85. Now family and friends said goodbye to the deceased at a memorial service at Christ Church Methodist in Charleston. Garner and Affleck’s middle child, wearing a black suit and tie, used this moment when all the important people are together to make a very personal announcement. According to the British newspaper “Daily Mail”, it introduced itself at a Bible verse reading with the words: “Hello, my name is Fin Affleck.” Small sentence with a big meaning: 15-year-old Seraphina is now Fin and has come out as non-binary – feeling assigned to neither the female nor the male gender.

The funeral service, which was streamed on Facebook, also shows that Fin Affleck has also changed visually. The chin-length hair has given way to a buzz cut. As “Daily Mail” reports, there were first indications of Fin’s name change a few weeks ago, when xier (a gender-neutral pronoun that can be used in Germany for non-binary people, editor’s note) was spotted with mom Jennifer carrying a backpack with the name “Fin” engraved on it.

Jennifer Lopez’s child is also non-binary

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck have not yet commented on their child’s coming out. After their separation in June 2015, the two Hollywood stars still maintain a good relationship with each other.

Ben is now married to singer Jennifer Lopez. She brought her two children Emme and Max into the marriage. Emme is also non-binary and would like to be addressed with gender-neutral pronouns. Lopez made this public in June 2022.
