September 11, 2001: Lessons from 9/11 and Afghanistan – Opinion


At the end of this twenty-year war, there is much to remind us of its beginning. The people of Afghanistan are being repressed again, demonstrations at gunpoint are broken up. The few journalists who still dare to report on it are tortured. Photos show the imprints of cables and whips. So much for the hope that the Taliban of today might be completely different.
