A man appeared before the Lille Criminal Court on August 1, after being arrested by the police for hitting his sister. It all started with an argument between the young man’s sister and his father, the latter refusing to speak to him for several days. In an attempt to ease tensions, the brother allegedly begged his sister to have a talk with his father.
The sister would then have refused. Furious, the young man would have grabbed her by the collar before hitting her several times with his basketball. According to our colleagues fromNews Northwhen police arrived, the 18-year-old was curled up in the bathroom, covered in blood and visibly in a daze.

At the hospital, the doctors find a wound in the head which requires stitches in the arch. The young woman also suffers from back and facial pain. All injuries will generate four days of total incapacity for work (ITT).
Judged in immediate appearance, the young man was found guilty of the charges against him and sentenced to ten months’ imprisonment. A sentence that the court decided to arrange with home surveillance with an electronic bracelet. He will also have to undergo psychological monitoring and will not be able to come to the family home.
