Sentenced to prison, Mohamed Haouas will not play with ASM Clermont

End of the serial. Sentenced on Friday to nine months in prison for “aggravated violence”, after having been sentenced at the end of May to a year in prison for domestic violence, Mohamed Haouas will not wear the Clermont jersey. ASM, with whom the former pillar of Montpellier had signed a three-year contract from July 1, confirmed this through a press release.

“There is no longer any commitment between the Montpellier right pillar and the Clermont club”, we can read there. “Our players have a duty to adopt exemplary behavior in all circumstances and in particular to be aware (…) of the impact of their image, their gestures or their words. Those who do not respect these rules have no place at ASM Clermont Auvergne. »

According to the daily The Team, a financial agreement has been reached between the two parties. Haouas (29) was sentenced Friday by the Montpellier Criminal Court to eighteen months in prison, nine of which are closed, for “aggravated violence” committed almost 10 years ago, a decision to which his lawyer, Mr. Gallix, decided to appeal in order to avoid prison for his client.

He explained that he hoped that Mohamed Haouas could first serve his prison sentence in an adapted form (electronic bracelet or parental parole), until the court of appeal rules, which could take two years. According to the regional daily Sud-Ouest, citing the entourage of Olympic Biarritz (Pro D2), Haouas would also have committed for the next two seasons with the Basque club.
