A 60-year-old woman made an unusual discovery in the Catholic parish church of St. Heinrich on Scharnitzstrasse in Sendling-Westpark. As she entered the house of worship, she was faced with several burning hymn books. She was able to put out the fire with a church employee.
The interior of the church was also devastated: candles had been knocked over, hymn books scattered on the floor, people had even peed on a “praise to God”. Overall, damage to property amounted to several hundred euros. Clues to the perpetrator are not yet available.
