A bus with 30 people on board crashed into a lane separation in the Brudermühl tunnel on Friday evening. No one was injured, but the vehicle’s tank ruptured in the accident and around 150 liters of diesel spilled onto the road, as the fire department announced on Saturday.
The bus was heading in the direction of the Heckenstaller tunnel. After the accident, the Brudermühl tunnel had to be closed and there were significant traffic delays. The fire brigade sealed the water drain so that diesel could no longer flow unhindered into the sewage system.
The passengers were able to continue their journey to the central bus station in an MVG bus, the road was cleaned. The cause of the accident is still unknown, the police are investigating.
