Apple has released a trailer for the documentary Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me. The star opens up about his mental health.

“Just be yourself, Selena.” With these words, Selena Gomez (30) opens a first long trailer for a new documentary film, which will be available on Apple TV+ starting November 4th. In “Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me,” the singer-actress charts her journey and talks about mental health.

For the past several years, Gomez has been vocal about her physical and mental health. In 2015, she made it public that she was diagnosed with the autoimmune disease lupus and that she suffered from depression and panic attacks as a result. In 2020, Gomez spoke about her bipolar disorder for the first time. She has also been campaigning intensively for a long time for greater acceptance of mental health in the public eye.

“It’s about who I am”

“No one cares what you do. It’s about who I am. Loving where I am right now. I’m grateful to be alive,” the 30-year-old continues in the trailer. She’s been working since she was a child. Growing up, she often felt like she wasn’t “good enough”.

Gomez doesn’t want to be “super famous” and she’s “obviously still here, […] to help others.” Everything she’s been through will still be there, but “I’m just making it my friend now.” The singer is now happier and has her feelings and thoughts more under control than ever before: “I know that this is just the beginning for me.”
