Selb – patrol pushes another car from – Bavaria

A police officer caused an accident in Upper Franconia when he was avoiding a deer in his company car. The civilian emergency vehicle had just overtaken another car on a state road near Selb (Wunsiedel district) when the animal ran across the street, the police said on Thursday. To prevent a collision with the deer, the 43-year-old officer turned to the right and touched the other car. This came off the road and only came to a stop after about 30 meters in a field. A 29-year-old who was sitting in the back seat of the touched car suffered a bruise and a graze on his left leg. The 29-year-old passenger and colleague of the police officer suffered pain in the face in the accident when the airbag deployed. The cars were totaled. As a spokesman said, the police are investigating their colleague to determine whether he caused the accident negligently.
