“Segpas on skis” faced with an avalanche of incivility in the rooms

The show is sometimes where we least expected it: in the theaters where the comedy is screened The Segpa go skiing by Ali and Hakim Boughéraba. THE first part had attracted more than 700,000 spectators to the cinema in spring 2022, the second film, which takes the small group of students from a vocational high school to the mountains, is also a hit, but some screenings are not easy.

“Even if our comedies are a little schooly, there is a brotherhood which tells of the love that the characters have for each other,” explained Ali Bougheraba when the film was released. Some, among the 150,000 spectators who saw the film, released on 300 copies on December 27, apparently let themselves be influenced a little too much by the turbulent side of the heroes.

Panic in the rooms

At the Gaumont Montpellier, spectators disturbed the session so much that the police had to be called to calm them down. At the Grand Club de Mont-de-Marsan in the Landes, management has simply decided to deprogram Segpa skiing to no longer have to deal with spoilsport. And she is not the only one to have made this choice.

Theaters in Blagnac, Saint-Etienne, Roubaix and Dole have had similar experiences, sometimes causing the projection to stop. Fights, spitting, races in the aisles, popcorn throwing, firecrackers and incessant conversations are not reserved only for multiplexes. Even small associative cinemas like The Clap in Bollène had to call on security guards to maintain order, a significant additional cost for this small structure.

Film in danger

Conclusion: the Segpa not only risk failing their screen baccalaureate but these exceptional incivilities, reserved for this film alone, could also torpedo their future at the box office.
