See the Music: The Arri cinema shows music films for a week – Munich

You hear music, you feel it, you feel it. Many types of music are also great for dancing to. But can you also see music? When it comes to Munich Arri cinema goes, the answer is yes. Under the title “See the Music” the cinema will show films with music from several decades and from different genres in the coming week. The opera film “Orphea in Love” by Axel Ranisch, which has just been released in cinemas, is also on the program, as is the documentary “Tina” about the life and career of the singer Tina Turner, who died at the end of May.

The “Blues Brothers” promise a real adrenaline kick, John Landis’ film relies on a lot of music and even more action – and it still inspires its audience 43 years after its premiere. The film adaptation of the musical “Grease” from 1978, which is cheesy in the best sense of the word, is even older, with Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta in the leading roles. More recent films will also be shown, such as the Freddie Mercury biopic “Bohemian Rhapsody” or the remake of the music drama “A Star Is Born” with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. And anyone who missed Baz Luhrmann’s opulent and extravagant biopic about the only true King of Rock’n’Roll last year can see “Elvis” again on the big screen. And of course listening.

Film series: See the Music, Thursday, June 8th to Wednesday, June 14th, Arri-Kino, Türkenstraße 91
