British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly spoke out after allegations of racism against the royal family.

A senior member of the British government has defended the royal family. There had previously been allegations of racism against the palace. This is also discussed in the first part of the Netflix documentary “Harry & Meghan”. Secretary of State James Cleverly (53) now said that King Charles III. (74) is a big supporter of a multicultural Britain.

Cleverly explained host Sophy Ridge of “Sky News”: In all the encounters he has had with the royal family – there are many given his role as foreign secretary – he has seen a group of people “passionately committed to supporting Britain the way it is”. The royal family’s attitude towards Britain reflects “the modern country that we see”. That’s his personal experience, James Cleverly said, “but I also think it’s something the whole world sees when it looks at us.”

However, according to the Foreign Minister, he could not say anything about the documentary “Harry & Meghan” because he had not seen it yet and still had to watch episodes of “Stranger Things”.

What does part two of “Harry & Meghan” bring?

The Netflix streaming service released part one of “Harry & Meghan” last Thursday (December 8). This ended with the wedding preparations of Prince Harry (38) and Duchess Meghan (41) in spring 2018. Part two of the documentary will be released on December 15th. Then details of the drama within the royal family around the couple’s departure from Great Britain will probably be discussed.

In the first three episodes that have already been released, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have focused on the beginnings of their relationship and the aggressive reporting about it.

Allegations against the Queen’s former lady-in-waiting

Shortly before the first episodes of the documentary were broadcast, there was a scandal in the royal family. After a UN event at the palace, the head of a British charity for Afro-Caribbean victims made it public on Instagram that she had been repeatedly questioned by an elderly woman about where she “really” came from. It later turned out to be the Queen’s long-time lady-in-waiting, Lady Susan Hussey (83). Hussey, a godmother to Prince William (40), then apologized and resigned. The palace said what happened was “unacceptable and deeply regrettable.” A spokesman for Prince William said racism “has no place in our society”.
