Russia is recording heavy losses in the war of aggression against Ukraine. NATO is now announcing a new estimate of the extent.

As NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced in Brussels, Western secret services assume that the number of killed or wounded Russian soldiers has now exceeded 350,000. Stoltenberg did not say how many of the Russian victims NATO estimates are dead. At the end of November last year, alliance circles were talking about significantly more than 100,000 – at the time, total losses were estimated at more than 300,000 Russian soldiers. These numbers cannot be independently verified. The Russian side does not provide any precise information about the losses in its own ranks.
At the same time, Stoltenberg appealed to the 32 NATO states to provide more military support for Ukraine. “The situation remains very difficult. Ukraine urgently needs ammunition,” he warned. The NATO Secretary General specifically addressed the Republicans of the designated US presidential candidate Donald Trump, who are currently blocking planned aid from Joe Biden’s government. Every day of delay affects the situation on the battlefield, he said on the sidelines of a meeting with Polish President Andrzej Duda at NATO headquarters.
Ukraine has been defending itself against a Russian war of aggression with Western help for more than two years. Recently, however, the situation at the front was very tense. According to their own statements, the Ukrainian armed forces urgently need further deliveries of weapons and ammunition in order to be able to hold their own against the attackers from Russia.
