Thanks to a law that temporarily extends the statute of limitations for adults for sexual abuse cases, Americans can be hit with cases dating back decades. Steven Tyler has the bitter experience of this. A complaint for sexual assault was filed against the leader of Aerosmith. This is the second time in two years, for alleged acts dating back to the 1970s, that he risks finding himself before a court.
In this new lawsuit, Jeanne Bellino, a former child model, says she was working on a fashion show in Manhattan in the summer of 1975, when a friend allegedly arranged for her to meet Aerosmith at a nearby hotel. The complaint, relayed by Rolling Stone, indicates that the group and several members of their entourage left the Warwick Hotel to stroll along Sixth Avenue. Jeanne Bellino would then have asked a question regarding the lyrics of a song, which would not have pleased Steven Tyler, who would then have forced her to enter a telephone booth.
Sordid details
“While holding her captive, Tyler thrust his tongue deep into her mouth and placed his hands on her body, breasts, buttocks and sex, moving her clothes on and off and pinning her against the stall wall. telephone. At the same time that Tyler was manhandling and groping the complainant, he pretended to have sexual relations with her. Other people stood outside the phone booth laughing and, while passers-by watched and witnessed the scene, no one from the entourage intervened. »
The rest turns sordid. “Tyler’s penis was erect and it was obvious to the complainant when he rubbed it against her that he was not wearing underwear and was wearing thin pants. She said she freed herself by raising her knee and pulling Tyler’s hair, then ran from the phone booth in shock and terror.
Second attack on the same day
But that’s not all. Jeanne Bellino, who relied on her friend to get around, would still have accompanied the group to the hotel, where the second alleged attack would have taken place. She claims that Steven Tyler forcibly kissed her again and rubbed himself against her near the bar. He then allegedly disappeared into his room and then called her. Paralyzed by fear, she was then “thrown” into a taxi by a doorman who saw her distress.
The plaintiff also claims to have been “hospitalized and treated following the incident” and is still taking medication “to cope with the sexual assault and to have suffered long-term physical injuries related to the trauma.” She still suffers today from “great physical and mental pain, severe and permanent emotional distress, physical manifestations of emotional distress, embarrassment, humiliation, physical, personal and psychological after-effects. »
Last year, the rocker, now 75, was the target of a similar complaint from Julia Holcomb Misley, 16 at the time of the alleged facts, over a three-year period during the same decade.
