Patrick Dempsey and Alessandro Borghi return to high finance. The money war gets even more bitter in season two of Devils.

The first season of “Devils” caused a stir internationally. Now the financial thriller series continues (from June 21 on Sky). The focus is once again on the entanglements of high finance with politics and society and their influence on the whole world and millions of people. The protagonists come back with them. Alessandro Borghi (35) reprises his role as Massimo Ruggero, who was appointed CEO of the New York-London Investment Bank at the end of season one. Patrick Dempsey (56) once again portrays the enigmatic Dominic Morgan, one of the most influential figures in international finance.

The new eight episodes begin in 2016 London. A privately lonely Massimo Ruggero is now CEO and has reaped huge profits for NYL’s Chinese investors. But the next catastrophe is not far away. Dominic Morgan takes advantage of this, returning and offering to join Massimo in a new global data war against China. Massimo must decide which side he is on in a battle that will threaten his life and ultimately lead to a 2020 showdown.

These stars are back

The second season of “Devils”, based on the novel “I Diavoli” by Guido Maria Brera, promises to be even darker and more exciting. The new episodes are about the global fight for data, the tug of war between East and West, the pandemic and of course the financial world and its international power games. Not only do Massimo and Dominic have to question their ideals, they face even broader challenges. The controversies they face are getting bigger, not only in the world of banking, but politically as well.

Many other characters are also introduced, such as new chief trader played by Li Jun Li, new board member Liwei (Joel de la Fuente), and Nadya (Clara Rosager), a brilliant young woman who finds a father figure in Dominic.

In addition to the two main actors Alessandro Borghi and ex-“Grey’s Anatomy” star Patrick Dempsey, Malachi Kirby (32), Pia Mechler (39) and Paul Chowdhry (47) are also back as Ruggero’s trader team. Lars Mikkelsen (58) returns as Daniel Duval. The second season was directed by Nick Hurran (62) and Jan Maria Michelini (43). The second season of “Devils” runs from June 21 on Sky Atlantic and on the WOW streaming service as well as on Sky Q on demand.
