Season 5 of The Scarlet Maid arrives indeed for the month of September. A news announced by Hulu on social networks with, as a bonus, two cliches taken from the series, putting the characters of June and Serena side by side, played by Elisabeth Moss and Yvonne Strahovski.
Regarding the plot of these new episodes, the scarlet servant will obviously have to deal with the consequences of the murder of Fred Waterford which she committed at the end of the previous season, while fighting against Gilead with Luke and Moira. For Serena, the Commander’s widow, it will be about maintaining her status in Toronto as Gilead’s influence expands in Canada. Finally, Commander Lawrence will work with Aunt Lydia to reform Gilead and consolidate its power.
A long wait
For more than two years, fans of the series have been waiting for the arrival of this fifth season of The Scarlet Maid, whose renewal had been confirmed in December 2020. On the casting side, expect to find Bradley Whitford, Max Minghella, OT Fagbenle, Samira Wiley, Ann Dowd, Madeline Brewer, Sam Jaeger and Amanda Brugel, while Christine Ko will make her appearance.
Conversely, Alexis Bledel, who embodied the character of Emily, will not be present, as revealed by the HollywoodReporter not long ago. Finally, while these new episodes will be available from September 14 on Hulu, no date has yet been announced for their arrival on OCS in France.
