Apple is said to have sent Telegram contact addresses to the federal government
The messenger service Telegram is also offered in the Apple Store. Now Apple seems to be supporting the federal government in taking action against Telegram.

Authorities want to persuade the messenger service Telegram to take action against hate and hate speech. So far, however, this has failed because the company is difficult for the federal government to take hold of. Now there seems to be unexpected help from the USA.
The federal government has apparently received help from the USA in the fight against criminal hate and violence in the Messenger service Telegram. The technology company Apple, which offers Telegram in its app store, has sent the company a serviceable address, the newspaper “Die Welt” reported on Monday. According to information from participants, Federal Interior Minister Nancy Faeser (SPD) informed the interior ministers of the federal states.
Telegram is elusive for governments
The federal government wants to get Telegram to take decisive action against hatred and hate speech in its service. However, the company is difficult to get hold of for the German authorities. Founded by a Russian, the company is based in Dubai. Telegram did not react to two fine warnings sent in April last year.
Faeser announces determined handling of radical chat groups
Faeser reported on Friday at the press conference of the conference of interior ministers about the first contacts of her house to Telegram. However, she did not give any details. According to “Welt”, the Federal Ministry of the Interior as well as Apple and Telegram have so far left unanswered requests for the transmission of the address.
According to the security authorities, Telegram is increasingly becoming a medium of radicalization. Politicians and experts from science and medicine who are publicly involved in overcoming the corona pandemic are particularly affected. In mid-December, the police searched objects belonging to members of a chat group who had murder plans against Saxon Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer (CDU) on Telegram.
